How to cook strange and delicious green bean tea

2. Strange ways to cook green bean soup

2.1. Green bean tea with lotus seeds

  • Ingredients: 200g green beans, 100g dried lotus seeds , 200g white granulated sugar, 1 cup of coconut milk, 20g tapioca flour, 1 dried coconut, 1 little vanilla extract.
  • Making:

Step 1: Soak lotus seeds, green beans. 

First, you soak green beans and lotus seeds in water for at least 4 hours. If you don’t have time, you can soak it in warm water for about an hour. After soaking, take out the green beans and lotus seeds, wash them, and dry them.

Step 2: Stew green beans with lotus seeds 

Put green beans in a pan, add water to cover the beans, put the pan on the stove and cook until the beans are soft. Put the lotus seeds in another pot and pour in the water. Add a little water to the lotus seeds and then put it on the stove to cook it. When the pot of green beans and lotus seeds has come to a boil, reduce the heat and continue to cook the green beans and lotus seeds until tender. Remove the foam. Boil the green beans for about 10 to 15 minutes to soften the beans. At this point, when you have confirmed that the beans are just cooked through, turn off the heat and drain off any excess water. After draining the water, incubate the beans in the pot for another 5 minutes until the beans are fully cooked. You can also do the same with lotus seeds or green beans.

Step 3: Cook tea

For tapioca flour, add 2 tablespoons of filtered water and stir until completely dissolved. Next, you put about 800 ml of water in a pot to boil and then add 200 g of white granulated sugar to cook until the sugar dissolves. When the sugar is completely dissolved, add the prepared tapioca starch water and stir until it reaches the desired consistency. When the tapioca flour is completely cooked and the water is thick, add the cooked green beans and stir well. Then add all the lotus seeds, stir well and continue cooking. When the teapot boils again, turn off the heat, add 2 drops of vanilla extract and stir well. 

Step 4: Done

Wait for the tea to cool, pour into a cup, add coconut milk, sprinkle grated coconut on top to enjoy.

Step 5: Finished product 

When cooled, the tea will be thicker, the beans and peas are soft, not crushed. 

It has a sweet taste, vanilla aroma, the characteristic flesh of green beans and lotus seeds, the fatty taste of coconut milk and the crispiness of dried coconut. All blended into a delicious, nutritious tea.

2.2. How to make green bean pomelo tea

  • Ingredients: Grapefruit 1 fruit , (Thick skin to get pomelo pulp), 200 grams of peeled green beans, Pandan leaves (Glue sheet), 100ml coconut milk, 120 grams of tapioca starch, 145 grams of sugar, 2 teaspoons of salt (About 30g).
  • Making: 

Step 1: Buy green beans, wash, round to remove damaged seeds and then soak in cold water for about 4 hours. 

Then fill the green beans with water, put in the microwave, choose the power level of 800W and cook for about 10 minutes. 

Grapefruit pulp with a knife, peel off the green skin, cut into bite-sized pieces.

Step 2: Boil pomelo pulp

Put the chopped grapefruit pulp in a bowl, add 1 cup of water (rice bowl) and 2 teaspoons of salt. Next, squeeze the grapefruit pulp with your hands to remove the bitterness and then rinse it with cold water several times to remove the salt. 

Next, you put a pot of water on the stove and bring to a boil. When the water boils, add the pomelo pulp and cook for about 3-5 minutes, then take it out and put it in a bowl of cold water to soak for 3 minutes. After soaking, you filter the grapefruit pulp and squeeze out the water.  

Put pomelo pulp in a bowl, add 1/2 cup water (rice bowl) and 3 tablespoons sugar (about 45g), mix well by hand, pour seasoning into grapefruit pulp and set aside. Then let stand for 2-3 hours for the pomelo to steam.

Step 3: Stir-fry pomelo pulp

After 2-3 hours, put the pot on the stove, put the pomelo pulp and puree on low heat for 20 minutes. When the pomelo pulp is ready, add 100g of tapioca flour and stir well until the pomelo pulp comes out evenly. Then boil the water in another pan, put the mixture of pomero pulp and tapioca starch in the pan, cook until the pulp is clear, then take out a bowl of ice cold water and transfer to a bowl to crisp up the meat. 

Step 4: Cook grapefruit tea 

Boil about 2 liters of water, add pandan leaves when boiling, cook for 2-3 minutes to keep the flavor. After 2-3 minutes, remove the pandan leaves and put 1/2 cup of rice and sugar (about 100g) into the pot. 

Next, you mix 20g of tapioca flour with a sufficient amount of water. Next, you pour the ground tapioca flour into the pan, cook and stir. Finally, you add the fried green beans and grapefruit pulp and continue to stir, cook for about 1-2 minutes, adjust the sweetness to your liking and then turn off the stove. 

Step 5: Finished product 

Put pomelo tea into a cup and drizzle a little coconut milk on top, the tea is prepared. The pomelo tea in this recipe is quick and delicious. 

The taste of soft ripe green beans, crispy grapefruit pulp and the salty fatty taste of coconut milk are delicious, this dish can be eaten hot or cold.

2.3. Green bean tea with lotus root

  • Ingredients: 200 grams of fresh lotus seeds , 500 grams of lotus roots, 200 grams of green beans, 100 grams of aloe vera , 200 grams of rock sugar, 50 grams of red apple , 1/2 lemon, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 2 liters.

Wash 200g green beans and soak in water for 7-8 hours until soft. 

Lotus seeds and red apples are washed and dried. Peel the aloe vera, wash it with lemon and diluted salt to clear the mucus, rub the pulp and trim it to taste. 

Prepare 1 bowl of water and add the juice of 1/2 lemon and a pinch of salt.  

 Next, cut the lotus root into thin slices about 1/2 inch thick. After cutting, soak the lotus in the salted lemon mixture for about 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, you wash the lotus root and let it dry. Boil green beans and lotus root.

Step 2:

Put the pot on the stove, add 2 liters of water, soak the green beans and cook on high heat until boiling.  

Next, place the lotus root in a pan and cook over medium to high heat for 15 minutes. 

Step 3: Cook tea 

After 15 minutes, add lotus seeds, red apple, 1/4 teaspoon salt and 200g rock sugar. Continue cooking for about 15 minutes until the lotus seeds are tender. 

Finally, you add 100g of aloe vera, stir well and bring the tea to a boil again.

Step 4: Finished product
