  • 10 purple onions

  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon cashew powder
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • Salt


  • Use 2 tablespoons of vinegar + salt to rub on the beef for about 3-5 minutes to remove the bad smell from the beef. Rinse under running water and let dry
  • Put the beef on a cutting board and cut it into 0.5cm thick slices. Slice the meat along the grain
  • Lemongrass washed, removed the root and damaged part, minced finely. Red onion + garlic + peeled ginger, washed and minced
  • Marinate beef with shallot + garlic + lemongrass + ginger + 2 teaspoons of sugar + 2 teaspoons of seasoning + 1 teaspoon of fish sauce + 1 teaspoon of five spices + 1 teaspoon of turmeric + 1 teaspoon of cashew powder + 1 teaspoon of curry powder + 2 tablespoons chili powder + 2 tablespoons oyster sauce + 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • Wearing plastic gloves, mix these mixtures thoroughly with the beef. Cover the food tightly, put it in the refrigerator for 8-10 hours to let the mixture soak into each fiber of the meat.

  • 5 sprigs of minced lemongrass
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon five spice powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar

Implementation steps:

  • Step 1: Fresh beef you buy needs to be washed with diluted salt water to clean dirt as well as remove odors. After washing, let it dry
  • Step 2: Thinly slice the beef, 1 – 1.5cm thick. Cut along the grain of the meat so it won’t fall apart when tearing
